Restore the black colour and shine of your cast iron stove. Heat Shieldings Hermetic CI is a stove polish based on clay and natural oil, developed to restore and maintain cast iron surfaces. The paste refreshes the black finish and forms a protective patina after heating, helping to prevent rust formation.

During application, the paste has a characteristic oily smell without a sharp chemical odour. A mild smell of warm oil may occur temporarily when the stove is heated.

Use Hermetic CI only on surfaces that do not come into contact with food. Before application, check that the stove component and any existing finish are suitable for treatment with stove polish.

Application instructions

• Allow the stove to cool completely before starting.
• Protect the surrounding area from stains. Wearing gloves and safety glasses is recommended. The black paste can leave stains that are difficult to remove.
• Remove dust, dirt and loose metal particles from the surface to be treated.
• Stir the paste thoroughly before use, as the ingredients may separate during storage.
• Apply the paste evenly using a cotton pad or a lint-free cloth.
• Heat the stove according to the appliance manufacturer’s instructions. The heat activates the formation of the protective patina. Ensure adequate ventilation.
• Be aware that a mild smell of warm oil may occur temporarily during heating.
• Allow the treated surface to cool completely, then buff it with a clean, lint-free cloth.
• Repeat the treatment as needed for maintenance or a more pronounced patina effect.
