This silicone tape is a self-vulcanizing, temperature-resistant elastomer that provides extra protection to insulation layers. The elastomer is flame retardant according to UL 94 V-0 and remains flexible during use. The tape is suitable for temperatures ranging from –25°C to +200°C, with short-term peaks up to 250°C. Thanks to its robust composition, the tape is resistant to frost and rockfall, creating an oil- and water-resistant layer.
This finish is, among other things, frequently used in industrial exhaust systems and dry exhaust systems on ships.
The roll has a width of 75 mm and a length of 5 meters. The outer layer is easy to replace or repair without the need for special tools. When applying, the silicone tape should overlap by at least 20 mm; vulcanization starts automatically at normal temperature and humidity.
Note: To minimize the temperature load on the outer layer, it is recommended to use at least 6 mm of insulation at normal temperatures (up to 450°C). For higher temperatures, such as near manifolds, a thicker insulation layer should be applied.
The self-vulcanizing silicone tape is non-combustible and does not melt. If the maximum temperature is exceeded, the tape will disintegrate and detach.
