Description
SGM 800 Aerogel Insulation Blanket
Maximum insulation in minimal thickness – for extreme environments
The SGM 800 aerogel insulation blanket is a cutting-edge insulation solution that combines silica aerogel with mineral fibers. This structure delivers exceptional thermal performance even under extreme conditions – from cryogenic temperatures to intense heat.
Key Advantages
- Up to 2x better insulation than fiberglass
With a thermal conductivity of just 0.017 W/m·K at 200°C, the SGM 800 is twice as efficient as traditional fiberglass insulation (approx. 0.034 W/m·K). This allows for thinner and lighter insulation layers without compromising performance.
- Hydrophobic – moisture resistant
The SGM 800 is hydrophobic, meaning it repels water instead of absorbing it. This protects its insulation performance in humid or wet environments such as petrochemical plants, cryogenic systems, or outdoor installations.
- Fire Class A1 – maximum fire safety
Compliant with DIN 4102 fire class A1, this material is non-combustible. It does not contribute to fire spread and produces no smoke or toxic gases, making it ideal for applications where fire safety is critical – like buildings, vehicles, or industrial systems.
- Wide temperature range: from -200°C to 600°C
